Thanks for Visiting!
I appreciate you coming to Quest for Simple where I am simplifying my life one quest at a time. Join me while we navigate organizing the home, our family and our life. We want to get to the point where we have more time for each other and ourselves and to give back to our community.
About our family
My name is Brenda and we are a goofy family of 4, with a love of Newfoundland dogs. My hubby (Tom) and I have been married for over 23 years and we are getting ready to send our oldest (Liam) off to college next year. Our youngest (Rowan) is active in all things volleyball and is in 7th grade. We also have our 5 year-old Newfoundland, Ellie. She is sweet but stubborn.
My hubby and I both travel for work and are both working from home for the first time ever. As you can image, there is a lot of adjustments to be made and I think it is giving me a glimpse into what our retirement might be like.
Why a blog?
There are many blogs out there and I am thankful that you have stopped by. I started this blog for 3 reasons:
- To keep me honest as I travel down this path of personal improvement. I was going to do these things anyway, but now I have you to hold me accountable.
- Get suggestions from you on things that have worked to organize, tricks that you have tried in recipes to make them easier. I also want to share back the things that have worked and also not worked for me.
- Make a little spending money. Let’s be honest, I wouldn’t have links and ads on my pages if I wasn’t hoping to make a little bit. It would be great if the blog could help fund some of my projects.
I think the first few things I will work on is getting the house simplified, one room at a time, adding in recipes that my picking family will eat. Then I want to work on me and simplifying my mind and body. That will entail some exercise (eek!) and trying to take some down time for myself, as a couple and with each of the children separately.
As I write this I am starting to feel a little anxious. I think maybe this might be a little too much to handle. (Nothing like jumping in with both feet) I think that breaking it into little bits is the way to go.
If you are looking for dramatic before and afters, that may not happen (except for in Darling Daughter’s room) that might not be the case. I am looking at all the parts to a room and starting in one spot and moving from there.
